60-Minute Consultation with IAT Certified Trichologist Mika Ozeki-Saunderson
From $200
Your hair tells a story—about your health, lifestyle, stress, and genetics. When something feels out of balance, it can be overwhelming to know where to turn. Our Trichology Consultation is designed to provide clarity, guidance, and a holistic plan to restore scalp health and hair vitality.
This one-hour session begins with a thorough consultation and in-depth Trichoscope scalp analysis, followed by a personalised recovery plan. Together, we explore every contributing factor, including your current health, medications, stress, lifestyle, daily habits, nutrition, and hair practices. Where necessary, we may recommend medical blood work, which will be assessed “trichologically”—reviewed specifically for optimal hair and scalp health. Depending on your needs, either a Clinical Head Spa with Mika or our Signature Head Spa* or Luxury Head Spa with another therapist is always recommended booked in on the same day as your consultation. This will provide you with a full reset of your scalp and hair, will allow better penetration of your new home care regimen and give you a “kick start” in supporting your journey towards stronger hair growth.
* The Signature Head Spa includes arm/hand/leg massage for a Cloud 9 experience.

What is Trichology?
Trichology is the science of scalp and hair health, a paramedical field focused entirely on hair and scalp conditions. Certified Trichologists are trained in medical principles related to hair and scalp health and take an evidence-based, holistic approach. While we do not diagnose, prescribe medication, or perform surgery, we dive deep into understanding the causes behind hair loss and scalp issues.
Every consultation is tailored to the individual. We examine medical history, nutrition, stress, lifestyle, and hair practices, and review blood test results “trichologically,” assessing optimal ranges for hair and scalp health. At House of Yoko, we prioritise natural and holistic treatment pathways. Every product we use is carefully chosen for proven effectiveness, formulated with plant extracts, vitamin complexes, and essential oils grounded in scientific research.
Our philosophy is simple: nurture the scalp like fertile soil, and the hair will flourish.
When to seek a Trichologist
If you’re worried about changes in your hair or scalp and feel uncertain about what’s happening, you don’t have to navigate it alone. With so much misinformation circulating online, it can be difficult to separate fact from myth. A consultation with a Certified Trichologist offers reassurance, clarity, and a plan forward.
Don’t suffer in silence — whether you’re progressively thinning, flaking, itching, or simply noticing your hair isn’t what it used to be, we’re here to help restore health, balance, and confidence.
We commonly support clients experiencing:
Genetic hair loss (male or female pattern)
Reactionary or long-term shedding (including postpartum hair loss)
Alopecia (areata, traumatic, scarring, or non-scarring)
Excessive oiliness or dryness
Itchy, sensitive, or burning scalp
Seborrheic dermatitis, dandruff, or psoriasis
Fungal infections
Recovery post-chemotherapy or radiation
Extremely damaged, brittle, or lacklustre hair
FAQs
-
Trichology is the specialized science of the hair and scalp. It is science grounded in anatomy, physiology, pathology and evidence-based research. Certified Trichologists will identify various scalp/hair disorders but unlike doctors or dermatologists, we cannot diagnose. We looks at the many factors that can influence hair and scalp health and if further investigation is required, we will refer you to a medical specialist.
-
We address the main concerns of your hair and scalp by looking into your medical history, family history, lifestyle, stress level, diet and your most recent bloodwork. Further examination of your scalp using our Trichoscope provides us with greater details on happening beneath the surface.
-
No. Certified Trichologists can identify various scalp disorders and provide valuable assessment and education around hair and scalp concerns, but it does not replace medical diagnosis. When a condition requires medical investigation or treatment, we may recommend that you consult an appropriate physician or dermatologist.
-
Not necessarily. Our Head Spa treatments can be enjoyed independently. A Trichology consultation is particularly useful if you have persistent scalp concerns, unusual shedding, changes in hair density or other issues you would like to investigate more deeply.
-
Yes. We believe your scalp and hair should never be treated according to a generic formula. Products, techniques, massage and treatment intensity can be adapted according to your individual needs.
-
A scalp treatment focuses primarily on the scalp environment and its condition. A hair treatment focuses on the hair fibre—hydration, conditioning, strength, smoothness and damage prevention. All of our Signature Head Spas will combine both. However, for an even more deep conditioning ‘transformative’ hair treatment, you may choose the House Of Yoko Luxury Head Spa which will include the Milbon 5 Step Hair Treatment. You may also add this to any of your other services such as Cut, Follow-up Scalp Treatments.
-
Yes. Certain treatments can be thoughtfully combined—for example, a Head Spa with an intensive hair treatment or LED Low Level Light Therapy. We can recommend combinations based on your goals and available time.
